Windows 10 October 2018 Update Hit by another Bug before its Release
Windows 10 October 2018 Update’s has been into a complete mess as the update has been hit by bugs since its launch. The bugs was so severe that the tech-giant had to suspend the rollout of the update until they could fix the issue. While the company is already facing wide outrage from the users for the compromise in quality control on the Windows 10 version 1809, another instance has come into notice that the Windows 10 October 2018 update has been hit with another bug related to ZIP archives.
Moreover, Microsoft too confirmed that Windows 10 October 2018 Update is hit with another but that creates issue in which the overwrite confirmation dialog is missing while copying contents from a .ZIP file. In this latest Windows 10 update, if you copy or move files from a .ZIP files into a location where another file with the same name already exists, “Do you want to replace these files” dialogue won’t pop up. However, the company says that the files won’t be delete or removed because they are not overwritten.
Microsoft also explained the instances when you will face such problem, which are:
- When a user is copies from a compressed (.zip) folder to a regular folder.
- When a user moves from a compressed folder to a regular folder.
- When a user copies from a compressed folder to a protected folder.
Microsoft also admitted that company is well aware of the issues reported and most probably the patch for the October update will address the bug next month. Though, this is not a serious issue but in case any user deletes items during the process, they can easily recover those deleted files from the recycle bin.
As for now Windows 10 October 2018 Update has been kept into hold and the Tech-gaint is expected to address all these issues prior to re-launching the update.
