AT&T 5G coming in new few weeks in United States
As per the promise AT&T is going to launch 5G services in United States in few weeks. It is expected to be launched by end of 2018. This service will be launched in dozens of states in the country. According to the company this launch is part of nationwide coverage of 5G networks.
Company will use the fibre networks as ‘Fibre is the backbone of 5G’ to rollout 5G network in the country. Company is building own Fibre networks for this project.
AT&T has branded this project as “5G Evolution” and the network will support a peak speed of 400 Mbps.
AT&T 5G network will be an authentic next-generation 5G network which will use 3GPP standards-based 5G NR system as well as a mobile network. Currently no device is supporting 3GPP standards-based 5G NR systems.
AT&T 3GPP standards-based 5G network is different from the previously launched “5G Evolution” network. AT&T 5G network will much advanced as compared to “5G Evolution” network.
Telecom giant AT&T is already testing their 5G network in Charlotte, Raleigh, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Atlanta, and Waco. As mentioned earlier company is going to launch this service in total 12 cities as promised in January.
According to AT&T their 5G network will work on its 28 GHz spectrum, although company is already in the process of reframing their low-band spectrum.
AT&T will use NETGEAR Nighthawk 5G Mobile Hotspot to provide 5G service and this not a mobile phone but a WiFi hotspot.
